Pastor Appreciation Month

October is Pastor Appreciation Month!This month is a great time to thank and pray for all our pastors at Edgewood – Doug, Daria, Louis (and soon, Loren)! We are truly blessed to have such committed, competent, God-focused leaders. And they do so much to make Edgewood a strong family of brothers and sisters who love each other and the Lord.

So let’s encourage, honor and uplift them this October!

This call to celebrate our church leaders’ contributions goes all the way back to Paul. While setting up the first churches, Paul advised congregations to give “double honor” to the elders who managed church affairs, “especially those whose work in preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).

Paul also urged the first Christian communities to acknowledge those “who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you” and to hold these spiritual leaders “in the highest regard in love because of their work” (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13).

In 1994, Focus On The Family led a charge to make October an official month in which congregations could celebrate their pastors.
